Olympic Kilns new product, Electro Sitter, provides a solution to kiln sitter users without kiln sitter parts. The Electro Sitter replaces the obsolete kiln sitter and kiln sitter with limit timer. Electro Sitter is complete with thermocouple attached and provides a smooth transition from kiln sitter to electronic controller. The Electro Sitter is in a box that will attach where the kiln sitter was located and wires will attach to the back of Electro Sitter just as they did on a kiln sitter. The 3-key controller allows the kiln operator to fire either, cone or ramp programs, and best of all, parts are available.
Electro Sitter retails for $425.

Olympic's newest addition to its glass firing kiln line is the Annealer.
Designed for annealing multiple items at once, the Annealer has two doors for accessibility lined with heavy fiber for reducing heat loss. The inside dimensions are 24" wide x 8" deep x 6" high, .067 cubic feet. The Annealer is equipped with an element in the top of the kiln and the thermocouple for the 3-key controller is at the top of the kiln so that a mandrel can be inserted without danger of hitting an electrical part. The door handles are wood so the kiln operator can open the door without gloves.
The 3-key controller has 4 user programs for ramping up/down and hold segments. The Annealer fires to 1700°F, runs on 120 volts/15 amps/1800 watts/NEMA 5-15 power cord.

Re: W. P. Dawson - KILN-SITTER®
For reasons known only to W. P. Dawson Inc., the makers of the KILN-SITTER®, current orders are not being supplied.
Our March 2008 order remains open with each inquiry resulting in a two week promise until recently when the target date became unknown.
We find this inconceivable from a company which has been owned and operated by three generations of the same family for more than 60 years.
The electronic control has nearly replaced the need for the KILN-SITTER®, but we still need to have parts for kilns already in service.
For this reason, we are suspending production of KILN-SITTER® equipped kilns and will offer the three key (3-key) electronic controller as a substitute at the same price as a kiln with a kiln sitter and timer.
Our current inventory of KILN-SITTER® (which is small) will be retained for replacement parts. We ask you, our customer, to call W. P. Dawson Inc., 399 Thor Place, Brea, CA 92621, and (714) 529-2813 and tell Doug or Bob Burmeister of your needs and encourage them to straighten out the mess we are experiencing.
We hope this inconvenience is temporary and that these parts will once again be available.

The Traveler is equipped with a 3-key controller which has a selector switch for using either the lid or body element. The kiln runs on a 120 volts and can be easily moved from one location to another with the attached wheels. We have increased the brick by 20% to create a better performing kiln, which has resulted in smaller internal dimensions. Although, built in sections, the kiln is not designed to come apart.
